96th Academy Awards 2024

The 2024 Oscars on Sunday night were a star-studded event where Hollywood’s most notable actors and actresses gathered to honor the top films from the previous year. The red carpet was filled with A-list celebrities, as reported by Good Morning America.

The movie “Oppenheimer” dominated the awards ceremony, as its director Christopher Nolan received the best director Oscar, actor Cillian Murphy was honored with the best actor award, and the film was recognized as the best picture, securing a total of seven wins.

In the 2024 Oscars, the movie with the highest number of nominations, 13 to be exact, was also the recipient of multiple awards including the Oscar for best supporting actor given to Robert Downey Jr., best film editing, best cinematography, and best original score.

The award for best actress was given to Emma Stone for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.”

The film “Poor Things” also received recognition in various design-related categories, such as for its exceptional costume design, production design, and makeup and hairstyling.

The actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph was awarded for her performance in “The Holdovers” in the category of best supporting actress.

The 96th Academy Awards were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who presented live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. According to the interview with Good Morning America, this was Kimmel’s fourth time hosting the prestigious event.
